University of California researchers at San Diego detected what they call a "Robin Hood impulse" when observing students that played a game that was designed to test egalitarian impulses.
What does this all mean? That we've all got a bit of Robin Hood inside us and basically that the kids with money got theirs stolen, while the kids with no money were given it. Researchers say this "taste for equality" could explain the reasons why we cooperate with each other in society. Although they do admit that results could have been different if conducted in another country and not on campus.
"That's the classic story we all know, where someone's taking from the rich and giving to the poor, which is exactly what we're seeing in this experiment,"
