Got a Trojan? Call H Like Hacker for Help

On Friday last

week, German media reported that government computers had obviously

fallen prey to a Chinese hacker attack using Trojans.

Of

course, one might wonder about the state of German government

IT-departements, after - some months ago and

deplorably enough - files were deleted which contained crucial

evidence on whether German special units had conducted their tasks

lawfully in Afghanistan and possibly about their role in Gitmo.

Well, it seems

that if Germans decide to make a laugh of themselves they go about it

just as thoroughly as about any business.

Instead of

trying to keep damage as limited as possible under the circumstances,

they decided not only to publish the fact alleging the Chinese

government for the attacks. They also revealed the fact that

obviously right up to the center of power, the Bundeskanzleramt, all

infrastructure is linked to the public Internet. Obviously, without

meaningful scanning of mail attachments.

The

story gets an amusing

twist against the backdrop that German Interior Minister, Wolfgang

Schäuble, has been tirelessly propagating spying on citizens

using Trojans (dubbed Bundestrojaner in political debates).

A measure

which most users probably fear less now than before.

In

the meantime, the Chinese government, in the runup to chancellor

Merkel's visit, has pledged to stop all attacks. If only all hackers

were such nice guys. Maybe talking to them works wonders for the rest

of us, too. After all, empathy could

be the key to enhanced security.

Best Cities For Singles

Being single is not as bad as people think.

Singles are an increasingly diverse group. Being unmarried these days could mean living with an opposite-sex partner -- as 9.8 million Americans did in 2005 -- or becoming a single mother by choice rather than necessity, a growing trend.

So where do you think is the best place to be a single in the U.S.?
1. San Francisco
2. New York
3. Los Angeles
4. Atlanta
5. Chicago

This courtesy of the SFist.com is really funny, so check it out.

Lordy, Lordy, Look Who's 40!

The Big Mac turns 40 today. The whopping burger -"two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame-seed bun, anyone" has humble beginnings, just like the mothership. It was first introduced in 1967 by Jim Delligatti, a McDonald's franchise owner in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. It's popularity spreading fast, making it a staple in all of its restaurants. Today, over 550 million Big Macs are sold each year in the U.S. alone. That's about 17 per second. Not bad for a little burger idea that started out in California drive thru, by two brothers and a milkshake mixer machine sales guy.

Ray Kroc mortgaged his home and invested his entire life savings to become the exclusive distributor of a five-spindled milk shake maker called the Multimixer.

The flavors that come together - it's like heaven in your mouth

Nicole Richie serves 82 minutes in jail

Athough Nicole Ritchie is 4 months pregnant, she maybe could have spent more than 82 minutes in jail out of her four day sentence. She was caugfht driving under the influence of drugs against oncoming traffic last December. Her BFF, Lindsay Lohan also got off easy.

Richie pleaded guilty in July to a misdemeanor DUI charge in a deal with prosecutors that helped her avoid a potential year in jail because it was a second driving-under-the-influence conviction.
