2000-Year-Old Meteors to Rain Down on August 31, 2007

If you happen to be up this Friday, August 31st at 4 am you could see a meteor that is 2,000 years-old. The Aurigid meteor has a narrow tail and will approah the Earth from teh Auriga constellation. If you spot this meteor, you'll be one of four people alive who have seen this meteor shower.

This very rare shower will occur again on 1 September 2007. A brief shower of tens of meteors will radiate from the constellation of Auriga, many as bright as the brighter stars in the sky. The Earth will be in the thick of it during the one hour centered on 04:33 a.m. PDT.

So grab your camera and snap a photo as this meteor will never come around again in our lifetime.

Most meteors that sporadically flash across the sky on a dark moonless night date from anonymous times.

Women Do Not Search For Sex On Craigslist

I'm not one for statistics, but basically this guy answered a bunch of "casual encounters" ads on Craigslist meaning ads for sex or only sex and only received 4 legitimate responses, it being one woman and three men.

Of the 4% of straight ads sampled that turned out to be real people, half of them are guys pretending to be women

Boyfriends Do More Housework Than Husbands

Another great reason to wait to tie the knot. You'll get more miles out of your guy if you don't say I do.

Marriage as an institution seems to have a traditionalizing effect on couples—even couples who see men and women as equal,

Hoax camp ads outrage Torontonians

Posters for Camp Okutta, ostensibly an adventure camp for kids, peppered the city. They advertised a summer of throwing grenades, shooting AK-47 assault rifles, and receiving minefield training — all for children aged eight through 12.

Bill Clinton Samples The Sweets

Rocking a Hillary in '08 button, Bill Clinton stopped by Dylan's Candy Bar in Manhattan recently (Ralph Lauren's daughter). He loves his sweets that Mr. Clinton. He's hot, sticky sweet from his head to his feet, ya!

For this reason, one might think that a sighting like this, Bill spending a hot summer day in a candy store, the scent of sticky caramel and melting chocolate wafting through the air as hungry women cling to him under the guise of posing for photos, might be something Hillary would frown upon.

Gordon Ramsay Blasts Lawsuit and Americans

You don't want to get Gordon Ramsay pissed off, whether it's in or out of your kitchen. Ramsay is outraged and not backing down in his defense that he never "set-up" scenarios for his reality show called Kitchen Nightmares airing on Fox's September 19th show. A New York restaurant manager was fired from the set and now claims rotten meat was planted in the show and actors were hired to pose as guests. Ramsay denies the allegations.

This is supposed to be the most powerful nation in the world, not the most pathetic

Cart Ball? Golfing's changing landscape

With many golf courses now requiring the use of electric golf carts, some golf aficionados are calling for a boycott and demanding that the game of golf go back to what it was.

One of the important problems we are trying to address is how to make golf accessible. Add that to the cost of golf and you deprive some people from coming out.

Unbearably trampy back-to-school clothes

This article is a hilarious highlight of what mothers face going back to school shopping for their tweens...
\

Adult fashion trends eventually work their way to the 'tween set. Low-rise jeans have been ubiquitous for so long that they seem to have settled in immovably like a warm air mass in August.

Surfers stop Superferry in Hawaii

Over a dozen environemental protestors on surfboards tried to stop the second voyage of the first ever passenger ferry service, Hawaii Superferry. The inter-island ferry that makes daily runs between the Hawaiian Islands made its first voyage a few days ahead of schedule and offers service for only $5. On both trips, over 500 people and 150 cars were loaded onto the ship. Attorneys for the environmental organizations are trying to stop the ferry from doing business until environmental studies are completed.

The protesters and environmentalists argue that the ferry's plan to ply 400 miles of Hawaii waters each day endangers whales, threatens to spread invasive species and will worsen traffic and pollution.

Japanese women embrace their image

The latest fashion ads in Japan indicate a growing trend amongst Japanese women to embrace their own culture and looks as opposed to their Western counterparts. In the past, most of the big cosmetics companies used blonde, western looking models and images to sell products to Japanese women. But now, more and more companies are using Japanese role models to sell the products. Marketing and advertising executives say their message applies to women who are starting to awaken a sense of self-confidence.

For decades, beauty standards in Japan were dictated by the West, home to famous fashion houses like Christian Dior and Gucci, which remain extremely popular in Asia.

Dunkin' Donuts going free of trans fat

Going trans fat free is a start but how about going fat and sugar free? That would be a start.

Dunkin' isn't claiming it will become "trans fat free," but does say any trans fat in foods including doughnuts, croissants, muffins and cookies will fall below half a gram per serving.

Hulk Hogan's son injured in car crash

Hulk Hogan's son, Nick, was injured in a car crash over the weekend.

A Toyota Supra driven by Nick Bollea was traveling at a high rate of speed

Reports from perezhilton.com say he was racing a silver Dodge Viper, but police haven't confirmed this yet.

After a big hug and thanking God that he’s okay now, we’d smack the shit out of Nick for risking his own life and putting innocent people in danger as well!

He is very lucky to be alive.

A frantic Hulk Hogan got right to the scene of his son's extremely serious car crash last night, just moments after it happened.
