Is 90-year-old Howard Marshall II the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby?

You can now add Howard Marshall II to the list of men that could have potentially fathered Anna Nicole Smith's baby girl, Dannielynn. According to the New York Daily News, Donna Hogan, Anna Nicole's half-sister who wrote a tell all manuscript, has now come forward with the news that Howard Marshall's sperm was frozen by a "future-planning and forward thinking" Anna Nicole....making him the fourth likely donor.

In the aptly named "Train Wreck" - written with author Stacy Brown - Hogan says: "I wouldn't be shocked at all if it's J. Howard's. She saved his sperm after all and that maybe [sic] her trump card in her fight to get the old man's estate."

The Anna Nicole Smith story is not going to go away. Surely, a disappointment to all the "serious" types that ask why the media (most of these people are part of the media --BTW) even has to cover these type of soft, frivolous pieces of "news-like" events. This is why via Tim Rutten.

Of course, one of the cheapest journalistic tricks going is to get a piece of a mindless, tawdry media frenzy by denouncing it. The writer gets to wallow profitably in whatever gutter has everybody's attention while still being wry and high-minded. The readers get to join the fun without losing their self-respect. It's a win-win sort of arrangement for a certain knowing-wink-and-sly-nod wing of the media culture.

I love reading other people's secrets. And obviously so do others, that's why the site Post Secret is so popular. In particular, one secret this Sunday stood out:

Eat your heart out, Trump style

Donald Trump has launched a superior Valentine candy that he says will sell like hot cakes. The conversation hearts are a traditional Valentine's gift, but Trump thinks the lovely and sweet messages are just too sappy for today's consumer. So, he has revamped the messages on the candy to reflect what Trump's image is all about. Some of these are: " You make me sick," and "I'm going to sue," although I do think he's missing a few other ones like "Get a New Haircut," and " It doesn't matter that you're an alcoholic slut, cause if Miss USA gets a second chance, so do you."

Hoorah! Borat 2 is in the works

I'm happy t hear that Borat is returning for a second run, but I wonder how he will fool people into thinking that he is still "just a Khazak journalist." Borat is a world-wide phenomenon, so you will have had to live under a rock not to recognize the character.

Mr Baron Cohen is currently working on a film to follow Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, but it will be based on another one of his characters, Bruno, a gay Austrian fashion show presenter.

Universal Studios won the rights to the new film last year. However, once that is completed, Mr Baron Cohen will “come back and do Borat Two,” Mr Murdoch said during an interview at a conference in New York.

Versace to Clinton: Ditch the pants and put on a skirt

Donatella Versace, "President'' of one of the most recognized fashion houses is giving advice to Senator Hillary Clinton, a fellow female leader hoping to soon lead a "house" of a different kind. Versace recently expressed her views to a German magazine, on Hillary Clinton's usual choice of attire at different speaking and campaign events: navy blue pant-suits seem to be a favourite. Versace advised the Senator to use her femininity as a symbol of power rather than trying to emulate a masculine exterior. She believes this could easily work in her favour to win the presidency. (And seemingly so does Marc Jacobs, who showed -- to amazing reviews -- a collection geared towards Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton types.)

I think I visited this exact topic two weeks ago, in my article titled Power and Sex in the Media: Can women ever have it all? I discussed Lux Nightmare's take on the issue, and referred you to read the New York Times article that started it all. The gist of it: If women in powerful, male dominated positions dress to project their sexuality i.e. dress sexy or feminine, they are less likely to be taken seriously and are perceived weaker and therefore less effective in those positions, than their male counterparts. I wonder what the good Senator thinks.

U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should tap into her feminine side and wear dresses and skirts instead of trousers, fashion designer Donatella Versace was quoted as saying on Thursday.

Fucking someone and blogging about it will get you on TV!

I read this earlier on NowPublic but couldn't really express how frustrated I am by this. So Jessica Cutler, a blogger and in my opinion just another ordinary slut who fucked her way through a shitty Capitol Hill job now appears in a TV commercial for T-MOBILE! Why? What has she really done to deserve getting any notoriety whatsoever, then have sex, give BJ's and then spew the "sensitive" information all over the net? (Oh, she talks about her boyfriends' sexual preferences as well, like using K-Y and hand-cuffs.) Have a conversation with any, half decent looking, single 20 something trying to make it and this will be a discussion at the family table.

I guess she is calculated, obviously realizing airing her dirty laundry would eventually lend her a book deal, which it did...but then society keeps the rewards coming, like a commercial deal and let me guess next will be a talk show and a guest correspondent spot on Access Hollywood? I'm not a prude, but this is the only thing she's ever done! Wrote electronic excerpts about sex, sometimes two words long, in her online diary. There is nothing else underneath her lingerie.
