London's Harrods hires cobra to guard shoes

Harrods of London has hired a cobra to guard a pair of diamond encrusted sandals worth more than $120,000. The pair of shoes is embellished with ruby-sapphires and diamonds. Security experts disagree on the effectiveness of the snakes as a security measure, but agree it makes for a good photo opportunity.

A spokeswoman for Harrods admitted that the cobra had been hired strictly for MondayƂ’s launch of the shoe collection.
