WHO: Air travelers should exercise legs

The World Health Organization is recommending that people who fly for longer than four hours get up and move around especially those who take sleeping pills...so their circulation keeps, well, circulating. They're saying that the risk of developing fatal blood clots (or deep vein thrombosis) increases if people are immobile in cramped conditions. Consuming alcohol should also be avoided. Shorter people are also less likely to get blood clots as their legs dangle as opposed to taller people.

Other factors that can affect a person's chances of developing blood clots are obesity, genetic conditions, age, use of oral contraceptives, and being shorter than 5-foot-4 or taller than 6-foot-4. The theory is that short people are less mobile because their feet dangle and taller people because they are more cramped

No shaved cabbies for Beijing

If you're heading to Beijing next year for the Olympics you will not see one bald cabbie. The Chinese city department has put into effect a new rule that will outlaw beards and shaved heads for the men taxi drivers. This move comes just two months after the department banned women taxi drivers from wearing "too-fancy" hairstyles. Drivers have already been ordered not to spit, eat or smoke in cabs while they drive.

Beijing's long-suffering taxi-drivers are in the cross-hairs once again -- with shaved heads to be banned from the driving seat ahead of next year's Beijing Olympics

Timbits used in drive-by harassment: RCMP

I never thought Tim Horton's Timbits and harassment would come up in the same sentence, but a small Newfoundland town is dealing with an apparent Timbit attacker. A woman was walking home early in the morning when she was hit with a box of the delicious snacks. The pedestrian is okay, just a little shaken up by the incident.

RCMP in Deer Lake said a passenger in a vehicle threw the popular Tim Hortons snacks at a woman who was walking on Wight's Road early Tuesday morning.

US Weekly blacks out Hilton coverage-AP

US Weekly, a weekly entertainment magazine has decided not to run coverage of Paris Hilton's jail release for their Friday issue. Editor Janice Min says her and her staff felt "Paris fatigue," so they decided to run with a celebrity baby issue instead. The Associated Press put Hilton on a moratorium for a week earlier in the year to see what would happen.

When it came down to it, the staff and I felt what I believe a lot of people in America are feeling. Which is just enormous Paris fatigue

Baby girl gets 25 middle names

The next time I have a baby girl or really a baby of any sort, I am naming it "Autumn Sullivan Corbett Fitzsimmons Jeffries Hart Burns Johnson Willard

Dempsey Tunney Schmeling Sharkey Carnera Baer Braddock Louis Charles

Walcott Marciano Patterson Johansson Liston Clay Frazier Foreman Brown." This is what a lady named her daughter, keeping in tradition with her boxing-mad family's bizarre tradition.

The whole thing came about because both my mum and dad are obsessed with boxing and have a bit of a daft sense of humour.

Shocking photo of Rosie O'Donnell's daughter on her blog

This is strange, but Rosie O'Donnell dressed her daughter Vivi, up in a weird outfit that included an ammunition belt around her neck with bullets. This image has been posted on her blog and people are outraged. It's still unclear whether or not Rosie was trying to make a political statement or not. Nevertheless, it is weird.

Help me out here….Why is that child in the header pic(your child I believe) wearing a bullet belt around her? Is there a political statement ur trying to make?

Swimming in the East Sea

I read this great article about where to vacation in Korea during the summer months when it gets extremely hot and came across this beautiful sandy beachy place called Hwanjinpo. It islocated near the East Sea. The water is supposed to be a gorgeous blue and the beaches are pristine. Sounds like my kind of place.

The waters here are shallow and pure, lending themselves to inexperienced swimmers or paddlers. Since a natural bay hems in the beach, there is no danger of strong currents.

Source: Eddie Murphy's the baby daddy...

A source close to Mel B, formerly known as Scary Spice from the Spice Girls has confirmed that paternity tests prove 110% that Eddie Murphy is her BABY DADDY. Apparently Murphy refused to take a paternity test and had not contacted Mel B since the baby was born.

She and the comic dated last summer, but in December Murphy told a Dutch TV show of Brown's pregnancy: "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test."

Are the Spice Girls reuniting?

This is just the news I've been waiting for..could there be a Spice Girls reunion? Much speculation is going on about what the group plans to announce on June 28th. Their management says it is a world announcement so naturally we're all thinking they're reuniting. It wouldn't be a surprising move after most of the ex Spice Girls' solo careers didn't take off and they could all use a little career boost. So we'll just have to wait and see.

The Spice Girls are to make an announcement about their future plans next week, sparking speculation that one of the world's most successful girl bands is set to reunite for a new album and concert tour.

Paris Hilton signs $1M chat with "Today"

Say what? Yes, it's true. NBC's The Today Show has grabbed the all important first interview with Paris Hilton post-orange jump suit. Tabloids are speculating that Jeff Zucker, NBC's head honcho personally called Paris's dad to seal the deal. Many suggested that Barbara Walters would naturally get the gig, since her and Kathy Hilton (Paris's mom) have been seen everywhere together recently, but I guess Babsy will have to wait. Ratings are surely to go through the roof, one indication being that her fans have sent over 5000 letter to her cell in the last few weeks she's been there.

LOS ANGELES - NBC has agreed to pay as much as $1 million for Paris Hilton's first after-jail interview,

Blind People Have Superior Memory Skills

Scientists have now discovered that blind people's ability to recall things in the right order is much higher than someone's who has vision. It appears the blind use the visual cortex, and area usually reserved to process vision for other needs, like memory. Ehud Zohary who is a neurologist at Hebrew University explains that since blind people are always exercising their memory skills, they are honing superior and super memory skills.

Blind volunteers recalled 20 to 35 percent more words than sighted ones did, indicating a better memory overall. Their greatest advantage, however, was the ability to remember roughly twice as many more words in sequences according to the right order
