How do you find people who don't suck? Especially when you're the generation that makes social networking sites so other "ordinary",non-tech-start-up, non-Klingon people can find happiness online? A good plan of attack is to start using the sites that you're actually building or your competitors are building. San Francisco writers and industry specialists say sites like HotorNot.com, MySpace.com, PlentyofFish.com and Consumating.com work because there is so much information about a person already, it's easier to spot what you like and what you don't. Most of the time, you can see a photo, hobbies, friends, activities, personal thoughts, and get a general "feel" for the person, so it's not as creepy as going on a blind date with Joe Random.
