Former CNN anchor Carol Lin at BlogHer 2007

I'm listening in a "track session" or breakout session on the life stages of online communities. Carol Lin just explained her decision to start a blog and leave her high powered CNN anchor job. She said she knew she had to make a change after her husband died of cancer and she couldn't view delivering or processing news the same. She said for example she didn't feel that North Korea launching a nuclear missile had the same weight anymore or delivering the news rather didn't feel the same. She also explains that in her opinion a more interactive way of delivering news or letting people participate in the news process is the way to go.

Carol Lin is a journalist who served as news anchor for CNN, national correspondent for ABC's "Good Morning America" and reported for World News Tonight with Peter Jennings.
