No fireworks for many this July 4th

Major droughts and the huge risks of fires are causing many communities to scrap the annual July 4th fireworks. Instead, they are replacing them with laser light shows, which is definitely not the same as the the real thing. Burbank, California and Woodstock, Georgia are just some of the communities that made the call to nix the fireworks. For Burbank residents, it's the first time the fireworks have been canceled since the city started holding them in 1994. Other states imposing the ban on the 'works are Kentucky, Alabama and North Carolina. Hey, at least there is still a light show...

The July Fourth parade and festival are still on in Woodstock, but residents worried about dry conditions wrote to the city recommending that the fireworks be postponed
