Key to a good marriage? Share housework-AP

According to a Pew Research Center survey on parenting and marriage, having kids is considered less of a factor for a successful marriage than it was once thought. Instead, the study found that couples now rate sharing household chores, income and having a happy sexual relationship as more prominent factors to make a marriage successful.

The survey also found that, by a margin of nearly 3-to-1, Americans say the main purpose of marriage is the "mutual happiness and fulfillment" of adults rather than the "bearing and raising of children."
